Community Guidelines

UniTalk is a verified space for university students to coordinate around real courses. These rules apply everywhere on UniTalk — course chats, project groups, direct messages, profiles, polls, voice messages, and the Younen assistant. Breaking them can lead to content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban, and serious cases may be reported to your university or law enforcement.

Be respectful

• No harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation.
• No hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or age.
• No encouraging self-harm. In a crisis, contact local emergency services — UniTalk is not an emergency service.

Protect privacy

• No doxxing — don't share anyone's private information without consent.
• No sharing private conversations, photos, or recordings of others without consent.
• No non-consensual intimate content — this is prohibited and may be reported to authorities.

Keep it honest

• No impersonation of students, staff, professors, or UniTalk.
• No spam, scams, advertising, or pyramid/MLM schemes.

Respect academic integrity

• Don't share exam answers, test banks, or completed work for others to submit as their own.
• Don't use UniTalk or Younen to cheat or violate your school's academic-integrity policy.

No illegal or harmful content

• No content that sexually exploits minors — zero tolerance; reported to law enforcement immediately.
• No sexually explicit content, sexual solicitation, or sexual harassment.
• No malware, viruses, or harmful files or links. Nothing that breaks the law.

Use uploads & AI responsibly

• Only upload syllabi/files you have the right to share.
• Don't use Younen to generate harmful, abusive, or dishonest content, or to extract others' private information.
• Don't try to access another user's account or private content.

Reporting & blocking

UniTalk has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

Report a message that breaks these rules: long-press the message → Report. Block anyone you don't want to interact with from their profile → Block; blocking takes effect immediately, stops DMs between you, and hides their messages in course chats. Manage blocks in Privacy & Security → Blocked Users.

Enforcement & appeals

We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who posted it. Depending on severity we may also warn, suspend, or terminate accounts, and report conduct to your institution or law enforcement. Appeal a decision by emailing team@unitalk.ca.
